Reverend Eric S. C. Manning

Husband. Father. Servant Leader. Messenger of Hope.

Reverend Eric S. C. Manning is a devoted husband to Andretta M. Manning and the proud father of two beloved children, Ashley and Eric II. His life is a testament to faith, family, and an unwavering commitment to God’s calling.

With deep gratitude, Reverend Manning embraces the sacred responsibility of serving in God's vineyard and within the historic Mother Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church community. It is with a heart full of reverence and thanksgiving that he declares: “I serve God and His children with a grateful heart.”

Reverend Manning’s ministry is rooted in a deep, abiding faith that fuels radical obedience through love. He often reflects, “Gratitude says to faith, ‘Keep trusting your Father for more grace; I know He will supply.’” This spiritual outlook guides his leadership, compelling him to walk in faith, live in prayer, and lead courageously while setting healthy boundaries.

He believes that true discipleship begins with self-awareness and is sustained by a commitment to see the larger picture—proclaiming hope in times of despair, fostering unity where there is division, and calling all people to the light and love of Christ.

For Reverend Manning, love for humanity is not optional—it is essential. He teaches that relationships must be grounded in mutual respect, active listening, and, where needed, a season of repentance. Only by meeting each other in our shared humanity can we truly reflect the kingdom of God. “There is more that unites us than divides us,” he often reminds his congregation. “And if we cannot learn to love each other now, how can we hope to inherit eternal life?”

He calls on all to turn away from the darkness of sin and to walk boldly in the light of Christ, echoing the profound truth of Scripture:

“Beloved, I am writing you no new commandment, but an old commandment that you had from the beginning... Whoever loves his brother abides in the light... But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness...”
(1 John 2:7–11)

Reverend Eric S. C. Manning stands as a beacon of light in a world often clouded by darkness. He is a servant leader, grounded in love, and driven by a divine mandate to proclaim the Gospel, build bridges, and walk humbly with God.
