Hands stacked together on a table; team members' hands forming a pile.

At Mother Emanuel AME Church, each team member faithfully offers their unique gifts and talents in service to God and the church’s divine mission. Rooted in spiritual purpose and guided by professional excellence, our team works in harmony to ensure the daily operations of the church reflect integrity, compassion, and order. Together, we help bring the vision of Mother Emanuel to life—not only within our congregation, but far beyond, impacting the wider global community with the love, justice, and hope that define our calling.

Office of Church Historian & Tours

The Office of the Church Historian is responsible for archiving and maintaining the church’s documents, media, and artifacts. In 2003, the Reverend William Smith Jr. approved the use of the second floor of a church-owned building to catalog and preserve all of the historical information about the church that could be located. The History and Archives Committee consisting of Frances T. Mack, Marvin Stewart, Marlena Davis, Monique Washington, and Willi Glee sorted and cataloged the information. The committee, along with George Pettigrew, painted the space, and Reverend Stephen Singleton approved the cost to install the new carpeting. The committee purchased and installed picture rails to hang pictures. They also bought and hung new drapes to cover the windows to diffuse any possible damage to the collection that may be caused by direct sunlight.

Vandag bestuur die historici toerisme by die kerk. Die hoofaanbieders is Lee Bennett Jr. en Willi Glee, Emeritus. Hulle bied historiese lesings aan groepe op versoek aan.
