  • Ash Wednesday Service

    February 18, 2026   -   6:00 P.M.   -   Mother Emanuel AME Church

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Lenten season, a sacred time of reflection, repentance, and spiritual renewal leading up to Easter. During the worship service, believers gather for prayer, scripture, and a message that calls the heart toward humility and a deeper walk with God. The imposition of ashes—placed on the forehead in the shape of a cross—serves as a solemn reminder of our human frailty and our need for God’s grace, often accompanied by the words, “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”

This meaningful service invites worshippers to pause, turn away from distractions, and recommit themselves to prayer, fasting, and acts of love as they journey through Lent with a spirit of reverence and hope.

    All are welcome to attend
