february Week One

Unity in the Community - 2025
January Week Two
  • Scripture: John 8:31–32

Begin your week remembering that truth is not fragile, shifting, or uncertain. Truth is a Person—Jesus Christ—and His Word is the anchor that holds you steady when everything else feels unstable. Abiding in His Word is not a chore; it is a lifeline. As you step into this week, choose to root yourself in what God has said rather than what circumstances suggest.

Prayer: Lord, anchor me in Your truth today. Let Your Word steady my mind and strengthen my heart.

  • Scripture: Psalm 139:23–24

Prayer: Search me, O God. Reveal what needs to be healed, corrected, or surrendered.

  • Scripture: 2 Corinthians 10:4–5

Every believer battles lies—lies about identity, worth, purpose, and future. God’s truth is the weapon that tears down those strongholds. When a lie rises up, confront it with Scripture. Replace deception with revelation.

Prayer: Father, give me discernment to recognize lies and courage to confront them with Your truth.

  • Donderdag – Die Waarheid Wat Vry Maak

    Scripture: Galatians 5:1

Jy is geliefd. Jy is vergewe. Jy is Syne.

Prayer: Jesus, thank You for the freedom Your truth brings. Help me walk boldly in that freedom today.

  • Scripture: Romans 12:2

Gebed: Here, vernuwe my denke met u waarheid. Verander my gedagtes sodat my lewe U eer.

  • Scripture: Psalm 119:105

Truth is strength for weary souls. It lights the path when the way forward is unclear. It gives courage when fear whispers. It gives hope when life feels heavy. Let God’s Word be your strength today—your lamp, your guide, your comfort.

Prayer: Father, strengthen me with Your Word. Let Your truth be my light and my confidence.

  • Scripture: John 3:16

The greatest truth ever spoken is the truth of God’s love. The truth that sets us free is the same truth that saves our souls: God loved us enough to give His Son. Every other truth flows from this one. As you worship today, rest in the truth that you are loved with an everlasting love.

Prayer: Thank You, Lord, for the saving truth of Your love. Let my life reflect the grace I have received.

  • Skrifgedeelte: 2 Petrus 1:3–5a

Holiness begins with what God has already done. Before Peter calls us to effort, he reminds us of grace. God’s power has supplied everything we need for life and godliness. We do not strive to earn God’s favor—we grow because we already have it.

    Reflection Question:

    Prayer:

Lord, thank You for grace that comes before effort. Help me rest in what You have done as I walk in obedience today. Amen.

  • Scripture: Hebrews 11:6

Faith is the foundation of holiness. It is trusting God with your life, your future, and your transformation. Without faith, spiritual growth collapses into religious activity. With faith, holiness becomes a response to love, not fear.

    Reflection Question:

What area of your life needs renewed trust in God?

    Prayer:

God, strengthen my faith so that my life reflects confidence in You. Amen.

  • Scripture: 2 Peter 1:5–7

    Reflection Question:

Which spiritual quality is God inviting you to intentionally develop right now?

    Prayer:

Lord, help me grow where I am planted and trust You with the process. Amen.

  • Skrifgedeelte: Galasiërs 5:22–23

Self-control and steadfastness are not restrictions; they are pathways to freedom. When the Spirit shapes our discipline, we are no longer controlled by impulses or circumstances. Holiness steadies us when life feels unstable.

    Reflection Question:

What habit or reaction needs to come under the Spirit’s guidance?

    Prayer:

Holy Spirit, shape my desires and give me strength to walk in freedom today. Amen.

  • Scripture: John 13:34–35

    Reflection Question:

How does your faith show up in the way you treat others?

    Prayer:

Lord, let my love for others reflect the love You have shown me. Amen.

  • Skrifgedeelte: 2 Petrus 1:8

Peter assures us that when these qualities are present and increasing, our lives will not be unfruitful. Holiness produces visible evidence—faith that works, love that serves, and character that endures.

    Reflection Question:

What fruit is God currently growing in your life?

    Prayer:

Amen.

  • Scripture: Philippians 1:6

Holiness is a lifelong journey. God is not asking for perfection but for faithfulness. The same God who began a good work in you will carry it to completion. Rest in His patience and keep walking forward.

    Reflection Question:

    Prayer:

Faithful God, continue Your work in me. I trust You with my growth and my future. Amen.

January Week Three
  • Scripture: 2 Timothy 1:7

    Oordenking:

Fear is loud, but it is not Lord. Paul reminds us that fear is not a gift from God. Anything God did not give you, you do not have to carry. Today, release the fears that cling to your heart and remember that God has already equipped you with power, love, and a sound mind.

    Bevestiging:

God did not give me fear. I release what is not from Him and receive His courage.

    Prayer:

My Father in Heaven, We give You thanks, we give You Glory. Free my heart from every fear You did not give me. Amen.

  • Dinsdag — WAAIER IN VLAM DIE GAWE VAN GOD

    Scripture: 2 Timothy 1:6

    Oordenking:

Spiritual gifts grow through attention, not neglect. Paul urges Timothy to “fan into flame” what God placed in him. Your calling, compassion, creativity, and leadership are embers waiting for breath. Today, take one step that stirs your flame—pray, serve, forgive, create, or encourage.

    Bevestiging:

    Prayer:

Lord, breathe on the gifts You placed within me. Help me stir them with faith and obedience. Amen.

  • Woensdag — VOLMAAKTE LIEFDE VERDRYF VREES UITGEBREEU

    Scripture: 1 John 4:18

    Oordenking:

Fear shrinks the soul, but love expands it. God’s love is strong enough to drive fear out of the room. When you rest in God’s love, you stop living as a prisoner of “what if.” Today, let God’s love settle you, steady you, and strengthen you.

    Bevestiging:

God se volmaakte liefde omring my, vul my en dryf vrees uit my lewe.

    Prayer:

God van liefde, laat U perfekte liefde my vrese stilmaak en my hart verruim. Amen.

  • Scripture: Psalm 27:1

    Oordenking:

David declares, “The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear?” Light exposes lies. Salvation secures the future. Strength stabilizes the soul. When God is your light, fear loses its shadows. Today, walk in the confidence that God is your protection and guide.

    Bevestiging:

God is my light and my strength. No shadow can overpower His presence in me.

    Prayer:

Lord, be my light today. Chase away every shadow and strengthen my steps. Amen.

  • Scripture: Luke 24:5–6

    Oordenking:

“He is not here; He is risen.” The resurrection is God’s eternal declaration that fear, death, and darkness do not win. Because Jesus lives, you can face life with boldness. The risen Christ stands with you, goes before you, and lives within you. Let resurrection hope lift your spirit today.

    Bevestiging:

Jesus is risen, and because He lives, I walk in victory, hope, and holy courage.

    Prayer:

Risen Lord, thank You for conquering death. Let Your resurrection power fill my life with courage and hope. Amen.

  • Scripture: Isaiah 40:31

    Oordenking:

Those who wait on the Lord receive renewed strength—not borrowed strength, not temporary strength, but God’s own strength. Fear drains us, but God restores us. Today, slow down long enough to wait on Him. Let Him refill what life has emptied.

    Bevestiging:

God renews my strength today. I rise above weariness and walk in His power.

    Prayer:

Everlasting God, renew my strength today. Lift me above weariness and teach me to trust You deeply. Amen.

  • Scripture: Galatians 5:25

    Oordenking:

“As ons deur die Gees lewe, laat ons ook deur die Gees wandel.” Jy is geskep om in die krag van die Gees te wandel, gevorm deur die liefde van die Gees, gelei deur die wysheid van die Gees. Dit is jou identiteit. Dit is jou erfenis. Stap die week wat voorlê in met Geesgevulde vertroue.

    Bevestiging:

The Spirit leads me. I walk in God’s power, God’s love, and God’s wisdom.

    Prayer:

Holy Spirit, lead me. Help me walk in power, love, and a sound mind. Let my life reflect Your presence. Amen.

January Week Four -  Coming Soon
february Week Two
  • Scripture: Ephesians 4:20–24

But that is not the way you learned Christ! … to put off your old self … and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

Introduction: Transformation begins when truth moves from something we acknowledge to something we surrender to. Hearing truth is passive; being transformed by truth is active.

    Key Points

    • Truth is not just information; it is transformation.
    • Learning Christ means allowing His character to shape yours.
    • Renewal rewires habits and thinking from the inside out.

    Black History Reflection:

Howard Thurman taught that oppressed people survive by clinging to the truth of their sacred worth, even when society denies it. Carter G. Woodson insisted that knowing the truth about our history is essential for liberation.

Prayer: Lord, let Your truth move from my mind to my heart. Renew me, reshape me, and help me walk in the freedom You offer.

Affirmation: I am transformed by the truth that is in Jesus.

  • Scripture: Ephesians 4:20–21

“Maar so het julle Christus nie leer ken nie … soos die waarheid in Jesus is.”

Inleiding: Om van Jesus te weet is informatief; om Christus te leer is relasioneel en transformerend.

    Sleutelpunte:

    • The Christian life is not based on information but on relationship.
    • Truth is a Person—Jesus.
    • Lies deform us, but truth transforms us.

Black History Reflection: Carter G. Woodson warned that controlling a person’s understanding of themselves shapes their destiny. Discovering the truth of our dignity and worth leads to inevitable transformation.

Laat U waarheid my identiteit vorm.

Affirmation: I am learning Christ and rejecting every lie that reduces my dignity.

  • Scripture: Ephesians 4:23

And be renewed in the spirit of your minds.

Introduction: Renewal is not self-help; it is Spirit-help. The mind is the battleground where lies take root.

    Sleutelpunte:

    • Renewal is essential, not optional.
    • You cannot live a transformed life with an unrenewed mind.
    • The Spirit renews the mind by replacing deception with revelation.

Black History Reflection: Freedom songs during the Civil Rights Movement renewed minds, replacing fear with courage and despair with hope. Truth became louder than the world’s lies.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, renew my mind. Replace every lie with Your truth and give me new eyes to see myself and others.

Affirmation: My mind is renewed by the Spirit of God.

  • Scripture: Ephesians 4:24

And to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

    Sleutelpunte:

    • Die nuwe self is gemodelleer na God se gelykenis.
    • Dit word gekenmerk deur geregtigheid en heiligheid.
    • Transformasie is doelbewus en daagliks.

Black History Reflection: Howard Thurman wrote that oppressed people must reclaim the truth of their sacred identity in God. When truth becomes more powerful than trauma, transformation happens.

Prayer: God, help me to put on the new self You created. Let Your truth be the foundation of my identity.

Affirmation: I am clothed in the new self, created in God’s image.

  • Vrydag – Konfronteer Leuens met Waarheid

    Scripture: Ephesians 4:21

… as the truth is in Jesus.

    Sleutelpunte:

    • Lies distort identity; truth restores it.
    • Lies imprison; truth liberates.
    • The truth in Jesus breaks down every lie.

Prayer: Lord, expose every lie I’ve believed. Let Your truth restore my identity and empower me to confront injustice.

    • Renewal is a daily, continuous process.
    • Our new creation gives us a new mind.
    • New behavior must be consistent with our new identity.

Black History Reflection: The courage of those who came before us reminds us to walk in freedom and truth, empowered by God’s Spirit.

Gebed: God, vernuwe my daagliks. Laat my gedagtes, woorde en dade die nuwe lewe weerspieël wat U my gegee het.

Bevestiging: Ek groei daagliks in waarheid en geregtigheid.

  • Scripture: Ephesians 4:24

… put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

Introduction: Transformation is not a minor adjustment—it is a miracle. Truth sets us free.

    Sleutelpunte:

Black History Reflection: May the God who carried our ancestors through every trial carry you in truth, strengthen you in hope, and surround you with His unshakable love.
